چکیده
Using an elaborate set of simulational tools and statistically optimized methods of data analysis, we investigate the scaling behavior of the correlation lengths of three-dimensional classical O(n) spin models. Considering three-dimensional slabs S3S3R, the results over a wide range of n indicate the validity of special scaling relations involving universal amplitude ratios that are analogous to results of conformal field theory for two-dimensional systems. A striking mismatch of the n→` extrapolation of these simulations against analytical calculations is traced back to a breakdown of the identification of this limit with the spherical model.

Numerical tests of CFT conjectures for 3D spin systems
One kind of predictions of conformal field theory for two-dimensional systems are universal relations between scaling amplitudes and scaling dimensions on infinite length cylinders. We discuss different possible generalizations of such laws to three-dimensional geometries. Using cluster update Monte Carlo simulations we investigate the finite-size scaling of the correlation lengths of several t...

Conformal eld theory (CFT) predicts universal relations between scaling amplitudes and scaling dimensions for two-dimensional systems on in nite length cylinders, which hold true even independent of the model under consideration. We discuss di erent possible generalizations of such laws to three-dimensional geometries. Using a cluster update Monte Carlo algorithm we investigate the nite-size sc...

The concept of conformal field theory provides a general classification of statistical systems on two-dimensional geometries at the point of a continuous phase transition. Considering the finite-size scaling of certain special observables, one thus obtains not only the critical exponents but even the corresponding amplitudes of the divergences analytically. A first numerical analysis brought up...
متن کاملScaling in the Two - Dimensional O ( 3 ) σ - Model at Correlation Length 10 5
In their recent letter [1] Caracciolo et al claim to have measured the temperature dependence of the correlation length in the 2D O(3) σ-model up to 10 and to find excellent (4%) agreement with the Hasenfratz-MaggioreNiedermayer (HMN) formula [2]. Their results come from applying finite size scaling (FSS) to Monte Carlo (MC) data taken on lattices of linear size L ≤ 512, 200 times smaller than ...
متن کاملMonte Carlo Simulation of the Three-dimensional Ising Spin Glass
Abstract. We study the 3D Edwards–Anderson model with binary interactions by Monte Carlo simulations. Direct evidence of finite–size scaling is provided, and the universal finite–size scaling functions are determined. Using an iterative extrapolation procedure, Monte Carlo data are extrapolated to infinite volume up to correlation length ξ ≈ 140. The infinite volume data are consistent with bot...
